Scrap The Girls April challenge

I really love the mood board for this month's challenge at Scrap The Girls. Being a beach lover this mood board really spoke to me.

I decided to create an art journal page inspired by this mood board so I could add layers and layers of colour. I have a brand new Dina Wakley Media Journal that I was itching to get started in, so I decided to make the very first page a kind of 'title' page as my own motivational piece!

So here is the final project. I'm so happy with how it turned out.

And a closer look at each side-

So I mentioned layers of colour, here's how my page came together.

I started with some Tim Holtz tissue paper, then added some acrylic paint and sprays.

Next was to add some white gesso, more paint and sprays. Once that layer was dry I added some stamping, some washi and some drips.

Next was another layer of stamping, paint and sprays. Then for some texture - Colour Paste through different stencils and more Lindy's sprays.

Then it was on with some corrugated card, washi, my photo, some die-cut butterflies and some word stickers.
I added some more Colour Paste and paint to blend it all together.

Products used:

Dina Wakly Media Journal
Dina Wakley Media Tape

Kaisercraft April challenge

When I saw the mood board for the  Kaisercraft April blog challenge I was instantly inspired.

I went straight for my new all time favourite collection 'Indigo Skies'. This collection has all of my favourite scrapbooking elements - wood grain, butterflies, and navy blue. So naturally I had to do a selfie layout and really bring out my 'style'. I was inspired by the ocean image in the mood board to scrap a photo of me at the beach (another of my favourite things!)

I was inspired by the top left image of the blue ink, so I started with a mixed media background using Denim, Aqua and White Kaiser Mists, as well as texture paste and stamping.

I used papers, stickers and Collectables from Indigo Skies.

I also fussy cut some florals from the 'Midnight' paper to add just a hint of florals.

I also added some beads and micro beads to add a little more detail and bling.

So I think this is definitely 'me on a page' - coastal, butterflies, blues and positive vibes! I love how this page turned out.

Creative Kit Club April kit - DT share

The April kit at Creative Kit Club is mostly all about the boys this month. Although that's not to say the girls are forgotten, there are some gorgeous florals, butterflies and hearts in the designs as well. The kit features the new 'Indigo Skies' collection from Kaisercraft, once again a very versatile collection.

Today I am sharing a closer look at my projects in the kit.

I have made 2 scrapbook layouts.
The first one is quite formal to reflect the formal school photo.

The second layout is much more 'outdoorsy' to complement my 'lil adventurer'!

I've used the add-on die 'Texture Stained Glass' with some of the cork.

I also really liked the brads and buttons for some detail, as well as the micro beads.

I have also made 2 cards. The step-by-step instructions for these cards can be found in the kit magazine.

Jot Magazine April Moodboard challenge

Today I am sharing my project inspired by the April challenge at Jot Magazine. Look at those rich colours!

I have been wanting to make a pocket letter style project for a while now, so I thought I would do something a bit different for this challenge.

Here is what I came up with

I've used mostly Crate Paper on my project - Maggie Holmes 'Gather' papers and  'Craft Market' ephemera.

I've used some 'Gather' chipboard stickers on the outside of the pockets to add some more dimension.

I added some definition to each card by outlining them with some Heidi Swapp Colour Shine in 'Raspberry'.

I've also used Dear Lizzy, Pink Fresh Studio, and Elle's Studio alphas.

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia April challenge - DT share

Check out this super fun challenge at Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia this month

And here is my DT page. Its quite a simple page, but so effective with the bright colours over a black background.

My background is Colour Blast 'Deep Water' Colour Paste through a Stencil Girl Products stencil.

The majority of the fun embellishments are from D-lish Scraps (really love that cute robot!) I've also used embellishments from other Aussie companies Flutterby Designs, Corbett Creations and Cocoa Vanilla Studio.

Scrap The Boys April challenge - DT share

This month's challenge at Scrap The Boys is all about our boys 'helping out'

Here is my DT layout. This is a photo of my boy helping his Dad to adjust his brand new bike.

My background paper is from Cocoa Vanilla Studio 'Made Of Awesome'. I cut it to be able to use both sides of the same sheet of paper. I coloured the right hand side with Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Spray. I also added some stamping.

I've added some hand made embellishments from Charm's Creations and Flutterby Designs.

I die-cut some cogs from foam as I thought it would complement the theme, and add some more texture.

I've also added some punchinella and word phrases from D-lish Scraps.
